Autopsy results have revealed that 19 year old student, Avee Mohammed of Barrackpore, died as a result of shock and hemorrhaging sustained when he received a single bullet wound to the upper right side of his chest.
The boy, a student of the Barrackpore Secondary school was killed on Easter Monday while hunting for fish and parrots in the forested area, close to his Platanite Trace home.
San Fernando police and homicide detectives are continuing investigations into the incident and they have indicated that homicide has not been ruled out.
The boy’s friends who were with him at the time of the incident, told police he was shot when he accidentally triggered a trap gun in the forest.
Mohammed was an aspiring police officer.
