Police have arrested two men in El Socorro for possession of a loaded pistol…
According to reports, the two armed men entered the yard of the home of a policeman, who is attached to North-Eastern Division CID.
They reportedly confronted workmen who were carrying out renovation work at the officer’s residence.
However, when the workers raised an alarm the gunmen quickly fled the scene in a black Toyota Yaris.
Officers also impounded the vehicle which they later discovered to be stolen. The car bore false license plates and was taken at gunpoint from its owner in the Mausica area on April 7.
The suspects, aged 21 and 24, who both hail from the Beetham area, are expected to appear on several ID parades today, following which, charges will be laid.
