Two ministers insist there is no attempt by the government to interfere with freedom of the press at state owned Caribbean New Media Group.
Journalists at the Maraval Road television station have alleged political interference in the reporting of news and wrote the management seeking to address the issue.
The Media Association of Trinidad and Tobago praised journalists at CNMG for what it describes as courageously standing up for principle by speaking out against breaches of journalistic ethics.
Questioned on the matter at the weekly post cabinet news briefing this afternoon, Works and
Transport Minister, Jack Warner , said freedom of the press is a sacred aspect the government will not hinder.
Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr. Suruj Rambachan , also indicated freedom of the press will not be challenged by the coalition.
