According to reports Marisa Rambharose, 42, dropped out of a taxi near the Forres Park landfill, around 6.30 p.m. when the mirror of a passing car struck her hand, causing the plastic bag with the food to fall on the roadway.
The mother of four bent over to pick up the boxes of food when another vehicle slammed into her.
She was dragged 162 feet before the driver stopped.
Ms. Rambharose was pronounced dead on the scene.
