NewsPower Now has been informed that the baby boy, Christopher Rambahan was being breastfed by his 24 -year- old mother at their Perseverance Road home when milk was seen oozing out of the child’s nostrils. Upon checking, the mother reported that her baby was unresponsive.
The child was immediately taken to the Chaguanas Police station where officers administered CPR on the baby. Both mother and baby were transported to the Chaguanas Health Centre where further efforts were made to revive the child, however the efforts of medical staff proved futile. The child was pronounced dead at around 12:30am on Monday.
An autopsy is being done and the police say they will await the findings to determine the official cause of death.
Police say the baby’s body bore no marks of violence.
Meanwhile, separately, autopsy results on the body of 11 -year- old Rihanna Briggs have revealed that the standard three pupil died from accidental strangulation. The autopsy was conducted by Dr. Hughvon DesVignes on Monday.
Little Rihanna was reportedly found hanging on Friday night from a piece of clothing that was clipped to a clothes line. She had been rushed to the Princes Town Health Facility where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
