Head Meteorologist Shakeer Baig says that this hurricane season is more active than previous seasons.

He had been speaking during a News power Now interview today. Mr. Baig highlighted that this is the period when the formation of  the highest number of Tropical storms and hurricanes are recorded.

He also commented on the solar eclipse that will take place on Monday 21st, August, explaining that a solar eclipse will be visible in totality within a band across the entire continental United States, and in other countries as a partial eclipse.

He advised against staring with naked eyes at the sun before, during and after the eclipse. It was further noted that because T&T would experience a partial eclipse, parts of the sun will remain visible to the naked eye.
