The Agriculture Society of Trinidad and Tobago maintains the group has no ill feelings towards Food Production Minister, Devant Maharaj.
Last week Minister Maharaj responded to calls by some farmers for him to be removed from the position or resign.
Recently some of the farmers gathered in Port of Spain to highlight their concerns.
A.S.T.T. said farmers have complained to the organization that there are several challenges facing the sector, which are not being addressed. However, Minister Maharaj said the calls for him to go could be an attempt to overshadow moves taken by the Ministry to probe alleged financial wrong doing at the A.S.T.T.
In a News Power Now interview on Monday, A.S.T.T. President, Dhano Sookoo, said the organization is willing to meet with Minister Maharaj in the interest of the agriculture sector.
