A 34 year old joiner and his 32 year old partner, have appeared in court charged with the murder of 80-year-old Dr. Claire Broadbridge. John Smith and Virginia Nedd, both of Seales Avenue, Morvant appeared in the Port of Spain 8th Magistrate’s Court on Thursday. The matter was however adjourned to Thursday, October 12th.
Smith and Nedd, were charged by Insp. (Ag.), Glendon Richards, of Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region One, on instructions from Supt. (Ag.), William Nurse, on Wednesday night.
Dr. Broadbridge was discovered by fire officers who were called to her St. Ann’s house on September 2nd, when fire was seen emanating from her home. They found her with her throat slit and stab wounds about the body, in her bedroom.
