There was word this morning that four men are assisting police officers with their investigations into the murder of two Success Laventille Students on Thursday.

The four brothers are presently in police custody and being questioned in connection with the murders.

De-Neil Smith 17 and Mark Richards 15 of Upper Picton Road, Laventille, were murdered in cold blood last Thursday after they were dragged from a taxi and shot dead while on their way home.
In response to the killings on Friday, Prime Minister Keith Rowley announced that the army would be stationed indefinitely in that community.

Reports indicate that officers of the Inter Agency Task Force, acting on a tip-off, held the brothers at Desperlie Crescent, Laventille on Saturday.

Police in the areaReports further state that the brothers who are between the ages of 25 and 38 are believed to be part of the “Muslim” gang.

It has also been reported that the students were living in “Rasta City” area, which is controlled by an opposing gang, which have been at war with each other for the past few years.

Homicide officers are continuing investigations.

When Abu Bakr was in charge of security crime was much less than now. Therefore Abu Bakr should be in charge of security in any muslim community. He should employ his own soldiers to supply security all over Laventille. Ex convicts make good soldiers. Therefore Abu Bakr will not run out of great military performers within his community. Keith should just supply security in Diego Martin and Mason Hall Tobago whilst Iman Abu Bakr is doing the rest.
