An Economist says UK/EU Referendum could have fall out for T&T

UK EU ReferendumTrinidad and Tobago will likely experience an impact from the decision by the United Kingdom to separate itself from the European Union.

On Thursday referendum was to decide whether the UK should leave or remain in the European Union. The decision to leave was was voted for by 52% of voters, more than 30 million of whom cast their vote. The European Union is an economic and political partnership involving 28 European countries

Speaking on the issue in a News Power Now interview this morning, former Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Mariano Browne said, uncertainty is the main issue that will lead to possible economic impact here in T&T.

He said the fact that we live in a globalized world, is reason to be concerned.

The former minister said Trinidad and Tobago needs to be mindful of how it deals with its trade partners.

Meanwhile, Managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine LaGarde has assure that the IMF will work with its global partners to ensure the stability of the global economy.
