The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure says it is partnering with the University of the West Indies, through the Faculty of Engineering, in its continuing assessment of the situation with regard to the Manzanilla/Mayaro rehabilitation roadworks.
A statement this afternoon said a team comprising representatives from UWI, in the disciplines of Civil and Environmental Engineering as well as Surveying, the Ministry’s own Coastal Protection Unit and the Engineering Corps of the Army conducted another aerial tour of the affected areas over the weekend.
The Ministry assured that every attempt is being made to create connectivity in the shortest possible time.
Commuters are urged not to use the Manzanilla/Mayaro roadway as several places which may appear to be stable may not in reality be so due to undermining of this roadway.
