An Arouca family has been plunged into mourning following the death of an eight-year-old girl…
The child died in a car accident, which also left four other people, including her mother, seriously injured.
Police said around 2 pm on Sunday, 25 year old Anthony de Coteau, of Walker Street, Arouca, was driving his Nissan B15 east along Tonka Bean Avenue, Arouca, when he collided with a Toyota Cressida, driven by 35 year old Joseph Hopkins, a prisons’ officer, of Pentecostal Street, Tunapuna.
De Coteau, Hopkins and three passengers in De Coteau’s vehicle; 35 year old Gail Lovell, 35, and her 8 year old daughter Reanna Robinson, both of Railway Road, Arouca, and 18 year old Naldo Alexander, of Bertie Road, Arouca, all sustained serious injuries…
They were taken to the Arima Health Facility where Reanna was pronounced dead on arrival.
The other four victims were transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, where they were listed in critical condition up to late yesterday.
