The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda says it will take years to rebuild after the passage of Hurricane Irma.
Gaston Browne is today saying that there has been extensive damage and it will take some time for things to get back to any sense of normalcy.
He says that 90% of homes and infrastructure on the island are damaged.
Browne also says based on the damage suffered already and reports that Hurricane Jose is less than two days away, evacuation of residents is one option being explored.
He also revealed that while there are efforts to start the rebuilding process in Barbuda, this is dependent on what happens with Hurricane Jose.
