A back log of cases at the Integrity Commission has led newly appointed Chairman, Ken Gordon, to advocate for a review of the integrity in public life act.
Speaking at a news conference Thursday, Mr. Gordon told the media the commission is recommending that the declaration form for public officials be amended to simplify the declaration process.
This Mr Gordon said should aid in a reduction of a backlog of over three thousand cases.
Mr. Gordon is also concerned about this country’s fall in the corruption perception index.
He said those in authority must move swiftly to fix the image.
The Integrity Commission Chairman noted from the thousands of declaration forms submitted by public officials, there is no evidence of corruption and added while the country may be perceived to be corrupt… this may not be the case.
