cariri1Workers employed with the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute – CARIRI this morning protested outside of the Ministry of Finance over what they say are stalled wage negotiations.

The negotiations are currently before the Ministry of Labour and headed for the Industrial Court due to the lack of any meaningful proposals to the Union by the Employer.

In a statement issued this morning, the Union and workers say they are intent on mobilizing all workers similarly affected in other state sector branches of the Banking Insurance and General Workers Union , among these, First Citizens Bank; Trinidad and Tobago First Citizens Bank.; ExporTT Company Ltd.; Eximbank and Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies as well as workers similarly affected in other state sector branches of other Unions.

They say they are encouraging a massive solidarity protest demonstration in due course, which will highlight what they say is the misinformation of the claims being made of settlement of most negotiations in state sector companies.
