Senior Superintendent, Insp. Johnny Abraham

A post on social media on Monday of a man with his face covered claiming to be a Muslim from Crown Trace, Chaguanas has gained increased attention.

The reason for the video he said was to address the so called gang war and upsurge of violence in the Central district.

He traced it back to a year ago.

The incident apparently left a portion of the Muslim community divided.
He also accused one of the groups of painting ‘Rasta City’ in Enterprise to give the impression of a gang war in the area.

However he stated that it was a disagreement between a select group of Muslims.
The man also addressed a meeting that went sour.

Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show yesterday, Senior Superintendent, Johnny Abraham who heads the Central police division also dismissed allegations of gang warfare between Muslims and the Rasta City

He stated that a group of approximately 20 young Muslims were at the root of the problem in the area.

Senior Superintendant, Johnny Abraham
