One year after the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago was established, Chairman of the Authority, Ms. Stephanie Daly says she has mixed feelings about celebrating their one year anniversary.
Speaking on the issue of the performance of the organization Daly said with the upsurge of several reports of children who have been abused or lost their lives in severe circumstances it would be difficult to judge.

However Director of the Authority Mrs. Sharifa Ali-Abdullah indicated that based on investigations over a nine month period, the Authority has been able to receive into care over one hundred children who were taken from homes based on imminent danger.

Mrs. Sharifa Ali-Abdullah however did mention that the Authority would like to see increased measures
where security and prevention of crimes against children are concerned.
