Citizens Encouraged to get tested for HIV

NEWS GRAPHIC 15Citizens are encouraged to come forward and get tested for HIV.

Data indicate that only five percent of the population has been official tested for the virus.

The appeal comes from Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Cherrie -Ann Crichlow Cockburn.

She was speaking during Monday’s World AIDS Day commemoration event on the Brian Lara Promenade, Port of Spain.

Minister Crichlow Cockburn insisted it critical that more citizens get tested and know their HIV \AIDS status.

The Minister also admitted that there is need for intensified effort and action in the fight the virus.

    This is what Vernella Alleyne-Toppin said all the time. Women get raped and will be infected with HIV.Therefore all females should go for the HIV test and those nwho attracted HIV should make a report about their lovers.Men who spread HIV knowingly should be castrated.Unfortunately Miss Ann Crichlow-Cockburn didn’t say if she was having an HIV test.I say better safe than sorry. The Mason Hall man is still around and nobody knows how many women gave consent to him.
