Counter Trafficking Unit highlights their efforts dealing with incidents of Human Trafficking in T&T.

indexThe Ministry of National Security’s Counter Trafficking Unit issued a media release highlight their efforts dealing with incidents of Human Trafficking in Trinidad and Tobago.

Five persons have so far been charged for 2016.

On Thursday 7 July 2016, two company directors of Borderline Security Solutions Ltd. of Cunupia – Mr. Keston Pollard and Mr. Eddyson Gonzales appeared before the Port of Spain Magistrate’s Court on thirteen criminal charges collectively.

The charges include Trafficking in Children against a male minor from St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Pollard and Gonzales were arrested at a home in Cunupia by a team officers of the Inter Agency Task Force in collaboration with authorized Officers of the Counter Trafficking Unit.

Pollard, of Cunupia, was charged with one count of trafficking in children, seven counts of sexual penetration and one count of common assault.

Gonzales was charged with three counts of sexual penetration and one count of common assault.

No bail was granted pending a criminal records trace and the matter was adjourned till Friday 15 July 2016 at the Chaguanas Magistrate’s Court.
