Businesses in the Couva\Point Lisas area are finding it tough to holding strain due to a decline in sales attributed to the State of Emergency which was declared on August 21st and curfew in areas identified as crime hot spots.
Couva\Point Lisas Chamber of Industry and Commerce President, Nal Ramsingh, in a News Power Authority interview Monday indicated many entrepreneurs complained of poor sales during recent Divali festivities.
Mr Ramsingh added business operators are also concerned this slow down in trade will continue into the Christmas season.
He called on the security authorities to consider removing the curfew restrictions which will help revive business momentum.
