Police have intensified the search for the man who threw a flammable liquid on 32 year old Melinda Weekes and set her afire on Friday

Weekes who was immediately warded at the Intensive Care Unit of the San Fernando General Hospital after the gruesome attack, eventually succumbed to her injuries

Reports are that at about 3:30pm on Friday police received reports of a domestic dispute at New City, Marabella that resulted in Weekes being torched by the 44 year old male relative.

The woman reportedly ran to the main road where she collapsed in the centre of the roadway.

Weekes, a real estate agent and mother of two children ages 8 and 12, received burns to 90 percent of her body.

The man has gone into hiding since the incident
