Despite public discontent voiced by some carnival interest groups the Culture Minister is maintaining that the government cannot extend itself especially amid the tight financial situation.
Community Development, Culture and Arts Minister, Dr Nyan Gadsby -Dolly, explains that the state is hoping that in spite of reduced monetary allocation quality and high standards are not compromised in the various aspects of the upcoming Carnival events and competitions.
Minister Gadsby Dolly was responding to a question posed by News Power Now Correspondent Rey Davis at the weekly post cabinet media briefing held at the Office of the Prime Minister, St Clair.
She added that financial support outside of state intervention will always be welcomed.
