No resource will be spared to arrest the culture of criminality in Trinidad and Tobago.
These were the words of Finance Minister, Larry Howai during his contribution to the Budget Debate in the Senate on Friday.
Minister Howai said crime continues to be an issue, which the government is determined to address. He said several measures are being taken to address the matter in a holistic way.
In the recently presented 2013\2014 budget, 6.5 billion dollars was allocated to the National Security Ministry.
The Finance Minister also urged politicians in the Upper House to support the Appropriation (Financial Year 2014) Bill 2013.
He said the country’s economy has been showing encouraging signs of recovery at a time when many nations are finding it tough to rebound from the global financial crisis.
