The Communication Workers Union describes as unfortunate Planning Minister, Dr. Bhoe Tewarie and Labor Minister Errol Mc Leod have to be placed in such a precarious position knowing trade unions position on the removal of the five percent wage cap.
On Thursday the government said it was willing to hold discussions with trade unions to resolve differences.
However, government warned little head way will be made if the trade union movement sticks to its position of not accepting a five percent wage increase.
Speaking to Newspower Authority this afternoon, Mr. Remy explained the unions are trying to make sense of what the two ministers meant by their statements.
Mr. Remy noted trade unions will be discussing their next move but plans to make a collective statement on government’s position when they meet to discuss the matter.
