David Abdullah Wants MSJ Included in Local Government Debates

Movement for Social Justice (MSJ) Leader David Abdullah is appealing to the Debates Commission to review its participation criteria to include his party in the Local Government Debates scheduled for October 10th and 15th.

Speaking at a press conference at the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce earlier this week, TTDC commissioner, Father Clyde Harvey said one of the criterion for parties to participates is that they must contest a minimum of 75 percent of the Municipal Corporations at the October 21st, Local Government polls.

Mr. Abdulla says this rule favours parties with strong financial backing and contradicts the mission of the very Debates Commission.
