The issue of dead fish washing ashore in La Brea, remains a primary concern for the Fishermen and Friends of the Sea. President of the group, Gary Aboud has continued to urge consumers to avoid purchasing and eating fish from locations where the sighting has been reported.

In an interview, Mr. Aboud noted that in La Brea, people have been taking the fish and the organisation has noted their consumption of the dead fish, almost immediately.
