The Trinidad and Tobago Debates Commission isn’t expecting a major financial fallout from Tuesday night’s cancellation of the local government election leader’s debate.
T.T.D.C. Commissioner, Ronald Harford, in a News Power Now interview on Tuesday afternoon explained that most of the financial arrangements were carried out before the first debate on local government representation, was held last week.
Mr. Harford added that in the past when the Commission encountered problems surrounding one of the debates, which had to be aborted the situation was handled professionally and there were no serious implications.
He said the Commission wants the debates to become a permanent activity in the country’s political arena.
