There is now debate among representatives of different groups in the society, over the Prime Minister’s declaration that the burden of adjustment is being equally shared.
In his address to the nation Sunday night, the Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley said it was incorrect for anyone to suggest that the poor and the vulnerable were bearing the brunt of those adjustments.
Speaking with News Power Now yesterday, leader of the Movement for Social Justice challenged the Prime Minister on this issue.
Also speaking on the issue yesterday General Secretary of the Joint Trade Union Movement, Ozzie Warwick said he believes that there is a real disconnect between policy makers and the poor people on the ground.
He said that the real issue is the inability of the decision makers to understand the needs of poor people in the country
