According to reports, residents of Low Place as well as John John were on a lockdown for the most part of the day.
There was also a heavy police presence.
Reports indicate that around 11am on Friday, a resident of the area, who was known to the police, was shot by officers and this prompted residents to retaliate by burning tyres.
Up until 7pm, no one was allowed to enter East Port of Spain and environs.
Soldiers were also posted near the Besson Street Police Station
