Clarification is being sought today on utterances from the Prime Minister at yesterday’s 47th Annual Convention of the People’s National Movement held at the Queens Park Savannah.
Prime Minister Rowley revealed that the Education Minister, Anthony Garcia had figured out a way to get text books for less. He said there would be a reduction in the cost of text books from $20 million to $10 million per year.
Speaking this morning on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102FM this morning, Minister Garcia explained that when he visits various schools he is told by Principals that there are sufficient text books for the students.
He said parents have also informed him of their preference to purchase books for their children.
He said as such the text book rental system will continue.
