Workers attached to the Export Centers Company Limited are calling on the Government to settle outstanding wage negotiations for state sector employees.
The group’s call comes mere hours before Finance Minister, Larry Howai, delivers the country’s 2013-2014 national budget.
The workers, who are represented by the Banking Insurance and General Workers Union, in a statement issued Monday said that they were the lowest paid workers in the state sector.
The also alleged that an unskilled worker is being paid a monthly salary of $1,680.00.
The workers plan to protest outside the minister’s office at the Eric Williams Financial Complex today (Monday).
