One farming group is today clamoring for government to let good sense prevail, as the importation of products are said to be unsafe for human consumption, continues.
Sheraz Khan, President of the Trinidad Unified Farmers Association says synthetic honey, being made in a lab in China, is being brought into Trinidad and Tobago and sold to the population- a situation he says poses a health risk to the people of this country.
Khan said a chemistry food and drug lab is needed in Trinidad and Tobago.
Separately, he launched a scathing attack against those in support of the importation of duck meat into Trinidad and Tobago.
He questioned why government isn’t instead moving to develop Trinidad and Tobago’s duck farming industry.
Khan lamented that if citizens are not fed nutritious food, Trinidad and Tobago would not have a healthy human resource.
