Roman Catholic priest Father Clyde Harvey was today tied up and robed by three men who threatened to kill him.
A worker at the St Martin’s RC Church in Gonzales spoke with News Power Now this morning stated that Harvey was at the church when three gunmen entered around 6am.
She did not want to be identified, but said the assailants also threatened to kill Fr Harvey.
Harvey had spent the night at the church to prepare for a seminar at the Seminary of the St John Vianney and the Uganda Martyrs, Mt St Benedict.
Father Harvey was tied up while the men ransacked the presbytery and took $1,000, a mobile phone and other items.
Father Harvey managed to escape and made his way to a parishioner’s home where he contacted Archbishop Joseph Harris and the police.
