Property tax is necessary and implemented by governments worldwide. The Finance Minister last evening made it clear that if property tax is not enforced, government would essentially have to find other means of earning to fill the deficit in the economy.
Minister Imbert’s view was expressed during an interview on CNC3 last evening.
Economist, Mary King- a former Minister of Planning under the People’s Partnership Government, this morning told News Power Now that she sees no issue with the implementation and collection of property tax in Trinidad and Tobago.
Meanwhile MP for St. Augustine Prakash Ramadar is again telling property owners that they are under no legal obligation to complete forms provided by the Government requiring information for the Property Tax.
Speaking on CNC3’s Morning Brew today he accused the Government of lying to citizens when it informed them that they could be prosecuted after May 22nd.
