Fire has destroyed the administrative section and standard five classroom at the Siparia Union Presbyterian School.
News Power Now understands that the incident took place around 3:10 Monday afternoon.
The school has 310 students and 15 teachers.
In the past the school’s Parent Teachers Association protested and kept their children away due to faulty electrical problems.
A contractor was hired by the Ministry of Education to correct the problem after worked stopped in 2014.
The school building is new but only ninety –five percent complete.
Fire service officials were expected to return today to assess damages and cause of the blaze.
