The group has signaled their approval of the decision taken to suspend Minister Anil Roberts and the call for his removal as a Government Minister.
However the group has stated that to be consistent and true to the Westminster system to which Mr. Ramadhar referred, the COP also needed to call for Attorney General (AG) Anand Ramlogan SC to be removed pending the outcome of the ‘Prison-Gate’ investigation.
Fixin T&T has also said that Contrary to assertions by Mr. Ramlogan that “no allegations have been made against the Attorney General”, the actions, decisions and language of some suggests otherwise.
Namely the former Solicitor General (SG) Eleanor Donaldson-Honeywell SC, Master Patricia Sobion-Awai, Mr. Justice of Appeal Allan Mendonca, the Prison Officers Association and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Roger Gaspard SC suggest otherwise.
The group has claimed that the fact that the DPP has ordered a criminal investigation after the AG allegedly conducted an enquiry which found no wrongdoing remains deeply troubling.
