The Non Governmental group Fixin T&T is calling on Acting Police Commissioner, Stephen Williams to launch a probe to determine whether, further to the Proceeds of Crime act, any money laundering laws have been breached in Trinidad and Tobago- this amid the ongoing FIFA investigation.

The Group says the testimony of former CONCACAF Secretary, Chuck Blazer that he and other FIFA executives conspired to and received bribes for several years to ‘fix’ aspects of world football,  charges leveled against Jack Warner by the US Department of Justice, revelations of cheques paid to Ross Advertising by Warner in the run up to the elections of 2010 and the assertions by Port TTFF President, Raymond Tim Kee and former Attorney General Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj that Mr. Warner financed and/or contributed to the United National Congress and the Peoples Partnership are cause for concern.

The group is calling for the probe to find out what or whom was the source of funding for the People’s Partnership political campaign, The campaign of the Kamla Persad-Bissessar led slate in the run up to the UNC’s internal elections of 2010,The PP’s campaign in the run up to the Tobago House of Assembly elections in 2013, The Independent Liberal Party’s (ILP) campaign in the run up to the Chaguanas West bi election of 2013, The ILP’s campaign in the run up to the Local Government elections of 2013, and monies if any, paid to Ross Advertising during and in respect to the aforementioned campaigns

The group has called for a response to the request within seven days.
