A flood alleviation and drainage program for Port of Spain has been approved by the cabinet.
Environment and Water Resources Minister, Ganga Singh, revealed that the program has three components and span a three year period.
Minister Singh made the revelation while speaking at the weekly post cabinet news briefing held at the Prime Minister’s St Clair Office on Thursday afternoon.
He said funding for the initiative will be provided by the Inter-American Development Bank valued at over 100 million US dollars adding that the relevant procurement process will be under taken.
The Cabinet also agreed to the establishment of an inter-ministerial steering committee to provide guidance on the execution of the program.
