A forensic probe will be carried out into the 2006 sale of seven BWIA terminal slots, at Heathrow Airport in London, under the PNM government.
Prime Minister, Kamla Persad Bissessar, revealed this at the renaming of the Crown Point International Airport, to the ANR Robinson International Airport, in Tobago Thursday afternoon.
She said it was the view that the sales of the slots negatively affected travel to this country for persons seeking to visit, from Europe.
The Prime Minister said the slots were sold for five million pounds to British Airways Limited, as part of its negotiations for Caribbean Airlines which replaced BWIA to use British Airways for its London route, under a quote share arrangement.
