Caroni East MP, Dr. Tim Gopeesingh

Caroni East MP, Dr. Tim Gopeesingh commenting on the Education Minister, Anthony Garcia’s remarks that a majority of students will not have access to free textbooks by the Government, is questioning what will happen to over a quarter million students who rely on this service.

Speaking on the Power Breakfast show on Power 102.1fm, the former Education Minister, said he questioned the Government during a Parliament debate about supplying students with the textbooks and was not given a clear answer.

Now Dr. Gopeesingh said this will be a travesty to many households who are unable afford the text books.

With just one week away for the new school term, Dr. Gopeesingh, is asking the Education Minister what he intends to put in place for students of Standards 1 – 5 as well as students in the early child care centers across the country.

School books will be bought by schools in bulk. This saves a lot of time for students and money for the governement. The PNM administration has the knowledge that Dr. Go pee Singh never obtained. As a medical Doctor he should develop a formula how to grow hair and wisdom beyond the age of 50. Sitting as a backbencher in parliament is only causing senility.
