The present Administration needs to be more proactive in educating the population about the H1N1 virus or Swine Flu.
This is according to former Health Minister and MP for San Juan/ Barataria, Fuad Khan.
He commented on the issue on the Power Breakfast Morning Show today on Power 102.1fm.
He said that during his administration’s term in office, while there was not much of an outbreak, they still sought to educate the public on the virus.
He said that back in 2009 when it was a fairly new disease there was a higher fear factor, however his administration took steps to ensure that the fear factor in the population was kept at a minimum.
He also commented on the Couva Children’s Hospital.
The current Minister of Health recently revealed that the Hospital was not yet vested in the Ministry of Health, however the Khan revealed that this was not so.
