golden grove 3Former minister in the Ministry of National Security, Attorney Subhas Panday is calling on the government and the judiciary to address overcrowding in our prisons.

While he spoke with the media yesterday, Panday suggested no longer sending minor offenders to prison, as a first step in decreasing national prison populations.

Yes, T&T has plenty space for real criminals. Up to now only a few were caught. However, people who committed petty crimes are imprisioned an mass.If T&T is a civilized country this should change immediately.Make space for real criminals and dismiss all the poor people who got imprisonment for petty crimes now.
