NEWS GRAPHIC 15Four Police Officers were today charged with two counts of misbehaviour in public office and mistreatment of a prisoner while in police custody.

The officers, all constables, have been identified as 37 -year- old Dave Ramkissoon, 29 -year -old Sean Hutchinson, 26 -year- old Gary John and 26- year- old Aquilan Baptiste- all officers of the St. Joseph Police Station.

The charges arise from an incident involving a male suspect at the St Joseph Police Station on August 30th, 2014.

The matter had been under investigation by the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB) under acting ACP Harrikrishen Baldeo and supervised by acting Supt. Gregory Renwick.

Insp. Eric Parks of the Tunapuna Police Station laid the charges after consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The men are to appear before the Tunapuna Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, April 16th, 2015, to answer to the charges.
