Energy Minister Franklin Khan this afternoon told the Senate that he’s awaiting the outcome of deliberations by the Board of state owned Petrotrin, on the findings of two audits regarding A&V Oil and Gas Limited, before determining what action can be taken to address the issues raised in the report.
From an internal audit two months ago, the company, discovered that oil production from one of its on-land lease operators, showed high increases in oil sent to the company.
This revealed it was paying thousands of dollars to the lease operator for oil produced for the period January to July, but the volumes were significantly less than what was being received at the company’s Pointe-a-Pierre refinery.
Minister Khan was responding to questions at this afternoon’s sitting in the Senate.
Mr. Khan said he was not in a position, at this time, to indicate to citizens a time frame on when action can be taken on the recommendations coming out from the two reports.
