There are reports that passengers on board one of the fast ferry vessels are refusing to disembark at the Port of Port of Spain as tension continues flare.
News Power Now understands that the 6:30am sailing eventually left Port of Spain for Scarborough at 2pm.
However, due to mechanical problems the vessel had to return to Port of Spain.
Confirmation of the development comes from Power 102.1 fm’s Afternoon Drive co-host Barrington Skippy Thomas who was on location at the Port at the time.
One disgruntled trucker claimed that the situation is a frustrating one and will impact on trade.
Watson Duke, President of the Public Services Association, speaking with Power 102.1fm this afternoon claimed the state has failed citizens in ensuring reliable sea transportation between the islands.
