One trade union says it is working arduously in a bid to make progress in the fight against gender discrimination and stigma, often levelled against women in the workplace.
The Women’s Executive Council of the National Union of Government and Federated Workers Union says this is an issue that is high on its agenda.
President of the group, Gillian Bartlett Alleyne, indicated the development during an interview on the Brian Lara Promenade in Port of Spain today.
Speaking with News Power Now during International Women’s Day celebrations, Mrs Bartlett Alleyne said women have demonstrated that they are qualified and can function efficiently at various levels in society.
