GILLIAN LUCKY ASKS FOR PANORAMA DRAMA EVIDENCE

Chairman of the Police Complaints Authority, Gillian Lucky, says the PCA is yet to receive any official complaints from persons who were the alleged victims of police brutality at Sunday’s Panorama Semi finals.

However Ms. Lucky says that under section 26 of the Police Complaints Authority Act, the Authority can begin its own investigation without receiving a specific complaint.

Lucky was speaking on the matter during a televised interview this morning.

She is urging members of the public to bring any recordings of the incident or any other documented evidence in to the PCA as soon as possible.

Commenting on statements by senior police officials that the actions of the police officers at the Queen’s Park Savannah on Sunday was lawful, Ms. Lucky said the PCA does not want to have officers being wrongfully accused but she also does not want the rights of the public to be ignored.
