Government is seeking to get Opposition support tomorrow when Parliament convenes to extend the Bail Amendment Acts and the Anti-Gang Act 2011.
Attorney General Faris Al Rawi addressed reporters after a two hour long meeting with members of the opposition.
He revealed that there was still work to be done in terms of addressing crime.
The Amendment of the Bill which was first proclaimed under the People’s Partnership Government seeks an extension of the operations of the Bail Act until August 15 2018.
It also seeks an extension of the operation of the Ant-Gang act 2011 for another 2 years.
Citing a lack of evidence that the bill works, the law Association withheld its support of the Bill.
However, the Attorney General has stated that data is still being collected on the effects of the Bill.
