The Acting Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, says the Police Service is working assiduously to address the mounting number of murders in the country.
Reports say there have been sixteen murders in the last four days.
Speaking in the Senate Tuesday afternoon Minister Young said focus is also being placed by law enforcement on the recovery of illegal firearms.
Responding to an urgent question on the Order Paper, Minister Young said the security agencies are being provided with the resources need by them in the fight against crime.
