Ground work in terms of whistle blowing legislation is currently being done.
Farris Al Rawi, Attorney General explains that this is required to ensure that the state has capacity and proper structures in place to accommodate the measure.
A whistleblower is defined as a person who exposes any kind of information or activity that is deemed illegal, unethical, or not correct within an organization that is either private or public.
The AG was at the time responding to a question posed by Opposition Member, Ganga Singh on the Order Paper in the House of Representatives this afternoon.
However, Mr Al Rawi made it clear that in spite of action being taken by the government on this matter, incidents of improper practice, irregularities or misconduct can still be raised by public servants or individuals considering the terms under which they operate.
